Equipment

  • Pellet Grill (I am using the Woodcreek 4-in-1 Pellet Grill by Cuisinart)
  • Spray bottle
  • Pellets (If you use a Pellet Grill): I like to use The Maple Bourbon Pellets by Cuisinart

Ingredients

  • 1 any size will do bone-in ham spiral cut or not
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup orange juice

Glaze

  • 1 cup Maple syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon ground
  • 1/2 tsp ginger ground
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg ground
  • 1/2 tsp cloves ground
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 tsp maple bacon seasoning Cuisinart

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill to 300ºF.
  • Place the ham, cut side down, right on the grill grates. Feel free to, but I like to smoke some vegetables, orange and pineapple slices for serving on the side.
  • Mix apple cider, orange juice, and pineapple juice in a spray bottle. You'll spray the ham every 15 minutes.
  • While the ham is smoking, prepare your glaze. Combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, soy sauce, mustard, and all the other ingredients in a small saucepan. Place over low heat and stir occasionally until the glaze is well combined. Remove from the heat once it starts boiling.
  • After 2 hours, remove the ham from the grill and pour the glaze over it. Put it back on the grill for another 30 minutes or until the internal temperature is about 160ºF.
  • When the ham is ready, remove it from the grill and baste it again with the glaze.  Let it rest for at least 20 minutes.  Slice & Enjoy!
