Mix the water, maple syrup, and yeast. Whisk well.
Let rest for about 10 minutes.
Add the flour, oil, and salt then start to turn the dough by hands in the same bowl. Feel free to use a mixer.
Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and allow it to rise at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Turn the dough again onto a lightly floured surface or in your mixer. Add more flour if needed, the dough has to be soft and smooth to the touch.
Cover again with a damp cloth and allow it to rise at room temperature for one hour or until it has doubled in size.
Divide the dough into three equal pieces.
Roll each of the three pieces of dough with your hands, making three ropes of about 12-15 inches.
Line the three strips side-by-side and pinch the top ends together.
Braid the dough strips together and pinch the bottom ends.
Cover and let rise in at room temperature for 45 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
In the meantime, preheat the smoker/grill to 350°F.
Brush your bread with egg yolk and sprinkled with sesame seeds.
Bake the loaf at 350 F for 30 to 40 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.
