Equipment

  • NOMAD Grill & Smoker
  • Charcoal
  • Maple wood chips
  • You can use any other charcoal grill to make this recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite sweet and thick bbq sauce
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar

Kids friendly dry rub

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup paprika
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Mix all the dry rub ingredients together.
  • Season the ribs on both sides generously.
  • Load your charcoal into your chimney and fire it up.
  • Once the charcoal is ready, drop it off under the grate, add a few maple wood chips and close the lid with opened vent. The target temperature on your grill should be 325°F.
  • Place the ribs on the grates, meat side up, and close the lid ASAP as you don't want to give the flames too much air.
  • Mix apple cider vinegar and water together in a food safe spray bottle.
  • After about one hour, flip the racks to meat side down. Check them every 10 minutes and spray some apple vinegar to keep them moist.
  • Once they have a good looking color and tenderness; brush both sides and grill for another 5 minutes.
  • Enjoy!
